Various forms of external data can be imported into the Terrain Module using File | Insert and File | Open. There is also an Insert File button on the Home ribbon. Import Setup allows you to add or remove file formats. The following topics describe the available formats:
Many formats will present an Import Options dialog box at open/import time.
For some of the formats being imported, you are given the option of transforming the coordinates, either by shifting, scaling and rotating, or by geodetic transformation. Rotate/Translate/Scale and Projection will appear as tabs on the Import Options tabbed dialog in this case.
Other formats (such as ASCII) allow data thinning and Selection will appear as a tab on Import Options.
