Raster DEM files can be imported into the Terrain Module using File | Open and File | Insert . There is also an Insert File button on the Home ribbon. Both USGS DEM and GeoTIF files can be opened with the same import format. Many different file extensions are used for these files so it is often necessary to add a new extension using the File Ext. button in Import Setup
