The Alignment Properties panel allows you to design and optimize vertical alignments. Only one vertical alignment is current. The current alignment appears in bold and is indicated by a green ball in the Alignment Tree Control (see below). All calculations are based on the current alignment (Profile, Mass haul, Optimal Mass Haul, Plan, Section and Data windows etc.). The current alignment is different from the selected alignment. The selected alignment is the alignment to which all the actions that can be done in this panel applies.
Alignment Tree Control
The Alignment Tree Control summarizes the inputs defined for each alignment (Conflicts, Standards, Constraints, Pits, Costs, Sidecast, Direction, Result Logs). A star next to an alignment indicates that the cost calculation for this alignment is out of date and needs to be recalculated. For each alignment, the inputs detailed are the same as in the Optimization Control Dialog. Moreover, for any given alignment, it is possible to get graphical information in the Profile Window. Selecting
Constraints allows to display the vertical band used for the optimization, with all the constraints, i.e., Min. Fill, Min. Cut, Full Bench, Vert. ROW, Hor. ROW, and the Control Points taken into account . The user can also select any individual constraint, i.e., Min. Fill, Min. Cut, Full Bench, Vert. ROW, and Hor. ROW and visualize the corresponding vertical band for that particular constraint. When the cross sections are out of date, only Min. Cut and Min. Fill can be represented.
Control Points allows to display the control points.
Pits allows to display the pits used for the optimization.
New (Button)
Defines a new optimal alignment. It opens the Vertical Optimizations Options tabbed dialog box. The options are copied from the selected alignment.
The Optimization Report lists the values for the selected outputs for the selected alignment. These outputs can be selected by right clicking and selecting Choose fields to report. The list is shaded whenever the cost of the selected alignment becomes out of date. Checking Compare with current displays the values for the selected outputs for current alignment as well and performs some comparison in the Difference column.
