This option allows you to save the current screen layout for future use with other designs. If you save it in the Softree/RoadEng directory, your screen layout will appear in the toolbar combo box, under the Softree folder. You may also save it in the Custom folder of your choice, which will also make it accessible through the toolbar. See File | Retrieve Screen Layout for more information.
You can maintain a library of layouts suitable for various tasks such as touch up editing, troubleshooting and printing hardcopy.
You may also save a screen layout in the toolbar directly: drop down the Screen Layouts item and right click on one of the folders in the list. Choose the Save New Layout menu to display the Screen Layout File Properties Dialog. Type in a name and description (optional) and press the OK button.
Default
When the Location module is started the Layout NORMAL.DLT is activated. Therefore saving a screen layout as NORMAL.DLT in the ROADENG directory will change the default startup configuration for Location.
