The Section Window displays a cross sectional view of the road design and status text/numeric information about that station. The section window always displays the current point (represented by a red cross in the Plan and Profile windows). (See also View - Section Options).
2) To Configure the Section Window activate it by clicking on its title bar. Select menu View - Section Options. To save these options for future use see Layout Files.
Errors in the Section Window:
SLOPE ERR
This error condition occurs when there is no intersection of the road template with topography. Typically this error condition occurs when the fill angle is shallower than the ground side slope (an infinite fill volume is created) or the cut angle is shallower than the side slope (infinite cut volume). It also will occur if the template falls off the edge of the TIN model.
NO TOPO OR BAD DRAPE
This error condition indicates that RoadEng has encountered a problem calculating the topo ground line. Possible causes are 'holes' in the TIN model or crossing breaklines.
STRIP ERROR
This error condition indicates that RoadEng has encountered problems while calculating the stripping surface.
AZIMUTH ERR
This error condition usually indicates a sharp change in direction in the P-line.
SURF/TIN NOT FOUND
This error condition indicates that RoadEng has encountered a problem calculating the topo ground line. Possible causes are 'holes'or missing TIN Model or crossing breaklines.
OVERLAPPING SG
This error condition indicates the subgrade is overlaps or overturns itself. This error indicates a possible problem with the template. NOTE: Some older templates allowed overturned SG surfaces. These may work but it is recommeded they be replaced with newer templates which don't overturn.
INVALID SUBSURFACES
This error condition indicates that lower subsurfaces intersect (extend above) topo or other sub-surfaces above themselves.
