Stores the station's ground type and optional layer information. This information is used in the Location Module. The standard table of user defined ground types can be modified from menu Ground Types Editor.
You may enter multiple layers directly in the edit box. E.g. to enter a layer consisting of 1.5 M overburden on hardpan enter OB/1.5/HP.
You can also enter ground type and layer information by double clicking on the GND cell, this will activate the Ground Layers dialog. This dialog box can also be activated by highlighting the cell and choosing the Traverse | Current Field menu. Additional stratum layers and their depths at centerline can be entered from this dialog box.
The default ground type is ** which is OB (overburden). If no entry is made in the GND field, the ground type from the previous station will be used as the default.
