  • 2.240. Optimizer Optimization
Optimization
This is part of the Vertical Optimizations Options tabbed dialog box. This is accessed from the Corridor Ribbon | Vertical | Options | Optimization tab.
Solver
This selection allows you to choose the solver you wish to deploy. This selection will depend on your license. If available, the fastest solver is CPlex.
Costing and Material Movement
This selection allows you to choose the maximum number of samples used in Optihaul calculations. If you have a long corridor project you might consider increasing the maximum. Note: Increasing the maximum may also increase the length of time for cost calculations.
Max. Res. Time (Edit Box)
This parameter allows to set a maximum running time for the optimizer. The optimizer will stop after this maximum time, even if it did not find the best alignment. The optimizer then returns the current best alignment if one has been found.
Opt. Gap (Edit Box)
The optimality gap is defined as the difference between the current best solution and the very best solution that can be obtained. This difference is either measured in terms of cost, or average distance between alignments. The optimizer will stop after a solution within the prescribed optimality gap has been found. This solution might not correspond to the best alignment.
Solver enhanced mode (Check Box)
If the optimization solver fails, then uncheck Solver enhanced mode and reprocess. The optimization solver will not fail this time but will take longer to solve.
