A Taper template is used to create a smooth transition between different templates. All template properties such as road width, ditch depth and slopes are interpolated between the two templates. The Taper template always exists and can be assigned using function Corridor | Assign Parameters by Range.
The taper is accomplished by linearly interpolating properties based on distance from the previous and next templates. Numeric properties such as slope and depth are easily interpolated this way. However, properties such as auto-slope or ditch are not well suited for this type of interpolation. These properties are assigned to the closest template (there is no transitioning).
