In addition to the standard entry and editing of feature points as described in Drawing and Editing a Feature, several functions are available for tracing and entering elevation information using the mouse. These functions are accessed using the keys on the numeric number pad. After selecting the Edit - New Feature dialog, and specifying an elevation feature, the following functions are available from the keys on the numeric keypad.
"8" or "U" - UP
Enter a point and increment the elevation by one interval.
"5" or "S"- SAME
Enter a point and keep the elevation the same.
"2" or "D" - DOWN
Enter a point and decrement the elevation by one interval.
"0" or "E" - ENTER
Pops up the Edit - Modify Point dialog allowing you the enter the elevation of a point.
NOTE: the start elevation and interval are specified in the Elevations dialog.
