This dialog box allows you to create and modify projections. It is accessed from Projection Setup.
Input CoordSys in WKT format (edit box)
Allows you to specify the coordinate system using WKT (Well Known Text) format. If your current projection is well defined, this field will be populated. The most common ways to update this field are to paste text from another source or to use the From EPSG button. It is possible. however, to create a custom projection by editing this text.
From EPSG (Button)
Allows you to specify an EPSG number. This is the most common way to specify a projection that is not found in Projection Setup drop down lists. EPSG numbers can be found on the internet.
A valid EPSG will update the WKT on the left.
From File (Button)
When you press this button, you are prompted to browse for a PRJ (ESRI format) or other projection file containing a WKT projection string. If the file contains a valid projection, the text control will update to show the WKT representation.
To File (Button)
Press this button to write a PRJ projection file (ESRI WKT format). This option is available only if a projection is currently defined.
