Initial Cross Section Dialog
This dialog is accessible from the File | New Location | Next.

Cross Section Definition
Standard Template
This option will assign an empty template (bridge) or the default template to the entire alignment. This is the most common option. For more information see Templates
If Create default corridor surfaces is selected, Corridor Surfaces will automatically be created.
Fixed Sections
This option will create a series of Fixed Sections. A surface can be included if an initial alignment is specifed in either Terrain (*.ter or *.terx) or LandXML (*.xml) format (not a traverse). The format depends if the initial alignment is a Terrain Feature or LandXML alignment.
Corridor Sections (*.csx)
This option will assign a Corridor Sections model to the entire alignment. This option is used if you wish to approximate the behaviour of a cross section coming from external design software such as Civil 3D. For more information see Corridor Sections
This option is only available if a LandXML alignment is selected.
Sections (LandXML::CrossSectionSurf)
This option will allow you to specify a Fixed Section via CrossSectionSurf.
This option is only available if a LandXML alignment is selected.
Sections (LandXML::DesignCrossSectionSurf)
This option will allow you to specify a Fixed Section via DesignCrossSectionSurf.
This option is only available if a LandXML alignment is selected.
