The Edit Symbols dialog allows you to create or modify symbols. This dialog box is accessed from the Module - Setup Menu, by pressing the Symbols button on the General Tab. .
A Symbol type consists of one or more Symbols Item(s) and Text Item(s). These items are defined in the following Tabs:
NOTE: There are 14 standard symbols, identified at the top of the Symbol List box with a red button, which can not be modified or duplicated. The two additional tabs will not work if one of these is selected.
Description
Enter symbol description.
Duplicate Button
Creates a duplicate copy of a symbol which can then be modified.
Delete Button
Removes a symbol.
Shift Up Button
Shifts a symbol higher in the list.
Shift Down
Shifts a symbol lower in the list.
Move/Size
Allows the symbol size to be set in millimeters.
Paste
Allows Terrain graphics to pasted from the clipboard. See Terrain menu Edit | Copy.
Load
Retrieves a set of symbols from a file. Symbols can be imported from Softree SYM files, Autocad DWG/DXF files, or Softree TRF/TE1/DS3 files.
Note: When choosing an Autocad DWG/DXF file type, the list will appear empty If there are no blocks in the Autocad file.
e-Library
Launches your default web browser and loads the Softree symbol download page.
Terrain Module Only
Rotatable check box
If checked, symbols will be displayed relative to the feature. Single point symbols will be rotated when a feature rotation operation is done (Edit - Modify Selected Features - Move/Size/Rotate menu).
Sizeable check box
If checked, symbols wil be sized when feature sizing operation is done (Edit - Modify Selected Features - Move/Size/Rotate or Edit - Modify Selected Features - Move/Size).
