The appearance depends on which range constraint you are generating; the image below is a generic version.
Criterion (Edit box)
This is the threshold for starting or ending a range.
For example, when auto-generating Full Bench, this is labelled Max. downward side slope (%). If you enter a value of 50 here, then Active Full Bench will be required in station ranges where the downward side slope of the original ground is greater than 50%.
Sample Spacing (Edit box)
This item is only available for auto-generating haul Direction. The Sample Spacing is used to generate an average grade for the original ground at any given station. Larger values will make the ground seem smoother.
Min. station range length (Edit box, Check box)
If you set the check box and enter a minimum length; no ranges will be generated that are shorter than this length. When this option has an effect, some parts of some ranges will violate your chosen threshold criterion.
Assigned value (Edit box)
Some constraints have a value associated with an active range. Enter that value here; it will be assigned to all active ranges. if you wish to have different values for some ranges, you can change them in the parent dialog box.
For example, when auto-generating Min. Cut, the Assigned value is the cut depth at center line. If you enter a value of 50 for the criterion, Max. downward side slope (%), and a value of 1.5 for the Assigned value, then cut depth of 1.5 or greater will be required in station ranges where the downward side slope of the original ground is greater than 50%.
Tol. (Edit box)
When the Direction constraint is selected, the tolerance used by the polyline simplification algorithm for the ground approximation can be set here. This approximation is used together with the Max. Grade to find the ranges.
