In this video series, we go over a workflow for designing a road network and pads in wind farm project, including 5.5 Km of Road and 6 turbine sites. The project was completed in 2 hours by one of the engineers at Softree using RoadEng with Softree Optimal software (Version 11 in alpha version). In the project, we create a digital terrain model, conduct an analysis of ideal routes for the road locations between turbines, design the roads and pads, and further optimize the earthworks for the project, reducing the costs significantly. The end result is a plan for the road locations, earthwork quantities, and road costs. Again, all of this was completed in just under 2 hours.
