To create a new feature using the mouse:
1. From the tool bar select the Draw New Feature button.
The cursor will change to a pencil.
2. Position the pencil at the desired location and press the left mouse button twice (two single clicks not a double click). This will cause a new point to be added. Continue adding points by clicking on the left mouse button (twice, one to capture then again to anchor the new point). Points are joined to the "nearest segment". To add points to the end of the feature, position the mouse near the end of the feature and click the left button.

The new point should now be shown attached to the feature by "rubber band line(s)". Pressing the left mouse key again will anchor the point.
