This function is only available if a map document is active.
This function toggles between standard and Label Edit Mode. In Label Edit Mode you can position labels using the mouse.
To Edit Labels Using the Mouse:
1) Activate Label Edit Mode by clicking on the tool bar button.
2) Position the cursor over the label you wish to move. You will notice the cursor change shape to a small cross.
3) Left click on the label. Two small squares (handles) will appear at each end of the label indicating that the label is selected.
4) When you move the cursor over a label handle it will change to a standard cross. Left click and drag (keeping the left button depressed) when the cursor is over a handle. This will move or rotate the label.
NOTE: One handle moves the label and the other allows you to rotate it.
5) Releasing the left mouse key will end the label moving operation.
To Change Label Color, Font Size or to Add an Arrow Pointer:
1) Activate Label Edit Mode by clicking on the tool bar button as shown above (the cursor will change to the shape shown on the button).

3) Left click on the label. Two small squares (handles) will appear at each end of the label indicating that the label is selected.
4) When you move the cursor over a label handle it will change to a standard cross. Double click with the left mouse button. This will popup the Label Selection and Formatting dialog where you can change the color, font size or arrow connector.
NOTE: it is possible to select and move several labels by holding down the <shift key> while selecting.
